Our viola catalogue get richer with the transcription for viola by Donald MAURICE of the Third Sonata for violin and piano Op.25 by Georges ENESCO. Donald MAURICE will play this work for the first time in the International Viola Congress in Tempe, Arizona, on June 8, 2008. The score is already available for sale. Contact our shop.
A new CD record: "Salomé" by Antoine Mariotte
Published in 1910 by Enoch & Cie, this opera suffered of being composed in the same time that Richard Strauss' work. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful and interesting work. Played in concert in Festival de Montpellier on July 2004, then in Opera Berlioz of Montpellier in December 2005, here is a live recording of the performance by Orchestre National de Montpellier, directed by Friedemann Layer, with Kate Aldrich as Salome, Scott Wilde as Hérode, Julia Juon as Herodias , Jean-Luc Chaignaud as Iokanaan.
